New European QS university ranking: Hungarian universities in the top
Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) published its latest ranking, which involves several Hungarian universities. This means that the institutions are still in the European top, and it is worth coming to study in Hungary.
Quacquarelli Symonds rates universities based on this criteria matrix: research, employability, education, global engagement, and sustainability. In 2023, they ranked the 690 best European universities from 42 countries. Among them, there are 15 Hungarian universities, eduline.hu wrote.
On the top of the Hungarian universities, there is the Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest (208). The Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) stands at 238, while the University of Szeged is at 242. Here are the additional Hungarian institutions of higher education from the list:

Two Hungarian universities in the TOP 10 in East Europe
Europe’s (and the world’s) best is Oxford University, followed by ETH Zurich and Cambridge. In East Europe, the Charles University of Prague is the best with the University of Warsaw and the Jagiellonian University in Cracow. In the region, ELTE is sixth, BME is tenth, the University of Szeged is 11th, and the University of Debrecen is 14th.
Among the indicators, BME scored particularly high in the number of exchange students (52nd place). The university was ranked 126th in employment, 156th in employer reputation and 164th in sustainability, bme.hu wrote.
BME was also highly ranked in the QS ranking of fields of expertise published in March 2023. The organisation, which assessed 20,000 institutions, ranked BME 224th worldwide in the Engineering and Technology category. Quacquarelli Symonds published QS Sustainability 2023, its new sustainability rankings, in November 2022. BME ranked high on this one too: The university was ranked 198th as the best Hungarian institution in Environmental Impact and 23rd among the 700 institutions ranked in the Sustainable Institution Indicator. In June this year, the university moved up 100 places in the QS world rankings to 741-750th place.
