New features are added to the Hungarian immunity certification application
A new feature will be available by mid-June to read when the application user received his second vaccination. The type of coronavirus vaccine the cardholder received will be easily available information.
Restaurant, hotel, museum, spa – everyone accepts the application instead of the immunity certificate. According to Magyar Közlöny on 22 May, “it is equivalent to presenting an immunity certificate if the person concerned proves their protection against the coronavirus with an application certifying vaccination in accordance with the Government Decree on the protection against coronavirus”. When proving protection, an official identity card suitable for confirming the person’s identity may be requested separately.
Another development of the digital immunity certificate will be completed by the summer. The app will be constantly updated to help its users with new features.
The further development of the digital protection certificate is in progress. According to Magyar Nemzet’s information, the new feature will be available by mid-June, when the data of when the user of the application received his second vaccination will be available. It will soon be possible to tell what type of coronavirus vaccine the user has received as well.
This is particularly interesting because the date of introduction of the EU Security Card has not yet been made public; thus, in terms of protection against the coronavirus, in addition to the proportion of vaccines administered, Hungary has already left Europe in the field of administrative measures.
The application is available in the Google Play store as EESZT application and in the App Store as EESZT Lakossagi – wrote Magyar Nemzet previously.
The application is directly connected to the IT system used by vaccinators, the EESZT, indicating the vaccination immediately after the first vaccination is recorded. The program also clearly shows the absence of that said vaccination.
The application will make life much easier for all those who have already been vaccinated but do not yet have a vaccination certificate. It will also allow service providers to increase their clientele.
The mobile application only certifies the fact of the vaccination, so the immunity certificate is still required to prove that you have been infected with a virus.
You can find more information about the use of the application and the registration process on the government portal Koronavírus.gov.hu.

Can I just ask, and I don’t know if I’m in the minority here. What happens if you don’t have a Smart or iPhone, and therefore cannot download any apps.
In theory you still have a printed, laminated card. But if you do not have an ID card, the chances are slim getting one because the system here cannot cope with passport numbers, it seems. Once the EU card system is up and running, the Hungarian vaccine certificate card will be largely redundant anyway.
I didn’t see a card for over a month nor my wife, we went to a quiet EEZT office ?, to be told my wife’s was posted a month ago and mine would be a week. It was. Wife’s was gathering dust at the local post office! Went to the local boozer , showed my card to the landlord who said , ‘nem érdekli’!! ( Not interested). ? . My ghast was flabbered.
Let’s say, I want to travel to Hungary in the summer. Is the International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (the yellow paper booklet) accepted everywhere as well? Unfortunately they’re easy to fake, but that’s the only proof of vaccination we get here in Germany. Granted, it contains a sticker from the vaccine plus a stamp and signature from the vaccination centre. But still..
it is all a joke ,why get vaccine if EU has not got certificate yet ,
my dutch friend just got to Hungary,
got vaccine ,but paper does not work here . WASTE OF TIME .
I will only get vaccine when I can travel to all of EU ,
also Switzerland , after 7 years of talk has decided not to get any closer to the EU ..
I WONDER WHY ….
