New home construction up by 14 pc this year in Hungary
Budapest (MTI) – The number of new homes built could increase by 14 percent this year compared with last year, partly as a result of the government’s family home subsidies, Csaba Dömötör, a state secretary at the Prime Minister’s Office, told public news channel M1 on Friday evening.
In addition, the number of home-building permits issued this year rose 2.5 fold compared with last year, he added. The number of permits issued has grown in every county, not only in Budapest, he said.
More than 30,000 Hungarian have applied for the family home subsidies and the number is still growing, the state secretary said, adding that the real boom in applications is expected in 2017.
