New problems with the Hungarian immunity certificate app
We received a letter from a reader in which he drew our attention to the fact that he had detected an error in the application proving the vaccination. The problem is also significant because if the vaccination application does not work properly, we may even get stuck at the border and our vacation will fail.
The Electronic Health Services (EESZT) has created a free downloadable application to make life easier for both providers and users. This allows caterers, entertainment venues, cinemas, and other providers to quickly and easily verify that the client has already received one of the coronavirus vaccinations.
For example, people find it useful because their phone is always on hand, and you do not have to keep your ID card with you. Also, you do not have to wait for the plastic card to be mailed after vaccination, you can immediately enjoy the benefits of those who have been vaccinated. According to the information available on koronavirus.gov.hu, these are the steps for using the application:
- Download the EESZT mobile app to your phone.
- Register on the website www.eeszt.gov.hu. This requires electronic identification (Customer Portal, e-Identity Card, Telephone Identification).
- During registration, a 6-digit PIN code must be entered; only this PIN code must be used to use the application on the mobile device.
- After registration, the application is ready for use.
- To use the application, log in with the PIN code provided during registration.
- Select the menu item “COVID vaccination certificate”; if there is a suitable vaccine, its information will be displayed. Once the user has been identified, the app shows the name of the vaccine, the ID number of the vaccinated person, the time of vaccination, or the absence of the vaccination.
- If you go to a place where a safety certificate is required, the service provider can check the presence of your vaccine using the EESZT Covid Control application.
The European Digital COVID Certificate will be available from July.
This certificate has also been available in the Hungarian application since the last update. Our reader encountered a problem in this regard when trying to test the downloaded QR code but, according to the EU Covid Reader, the code was invalid. There have been issues with the app in the past, which the creators have been constantly improving due to feedback.
For a long time, the application did not show the type of vaccine, however, this problem has since been fixed. The problem of our reader has been discovered by several Hungarian and foreign citizens. Hopefully, the authorities will correct this mistake soon. Porfolio.hu advises that those who have an urgent matter should download and print it on the EESZT’s Retail Portal, or get an appointment at the Government Window or their GP. With a paper-based certificate, everyone can be sure that they do not have to worry about crossing the border.
- New features are added to the Hungarian immunity certification application
- EU immunity certificate is officially available for travel!

Waiting for more than 3 months for my card!!!! 3rd world is heremarvo
I wrote a letter (in fluent Hungarian) to the relevant authority back on My 25th and enclosed copies of all relevant documentation, complaining that I had not received my card. Not even the courtesy of a reply by mail or email. Nothing. A useless bureaucracy.
Well my question is where is the date for the 2nd jab I have received it is not on the app, yet other EU countries have the 2nd date on theirs, as I will be needing to prove I have had both jabs.or if by magic through the QR code it will only say I am vaccinated with both jabs?
Another fine mess, thank you!
