Arsenal to make a move for Hungarian wonderkid Szoboszlai
Arsenal might have splashed the cash to sign Thomas Partey on the final day of the summer transfer window, but the Gunners are still in the market for another midfielder and a winger. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Arsenal is seriously interested in Kasimpasa’s Winger Atto Abbas & Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai and are looking at a possible move for them in January.
Szoboszlai is a 19-year-old attacking midfielder from Hungary. He has been touted as the best Hungarian player since Ferenc Puskás, who is widely considered as one of the best players that ever lived. Despite being only 19, Szoboszlai has already earned 10 caps for the national team and has even been wearing the captains armband.
He joined Salzburg in 2017 from Videoton and he has been a first-tea regular for two seasons now. It is expected that the Hungarian will be promoted from Salzburg to German side RB Leipzig in either January or next summer but according to Romano Arsenal are trying to prevent that from happening.
The young midfielder is valued at €25m with Salzburg possibly demanding a fee that would exceed the €45m mark.
Atto Abbas is quick, knows where the back of the net is and is capable of playing as winger or as part of a two-pronged wide midfield.
With two of the three typically playing at once, there is an element which suggests Arsenal would welcome the chance to add another winger.
