All public transport services in Budapest will be once again run by a single company in order to make operations more effective and flexible, the Budapest Transport Centre (BKK) said on Thursday.
The General Assembly of Budapest decided at its Wednesday meeting to merge BKK with the Budapest Transport Customer Relations company from July 30.
The process will be completed on Sept. 30.
“The aim of the integration of transport service companies is to avoid parallel activities and to optimise the organisation’s operations,” it said.
All the employees of the merged company will be automatically transferred to BKK as the legal successor, it added.
