Coronavirus – Hungary takes delivery of 27 tonnes of protective gear from China
Hungary took delivery of a 27 tonnes of personal protective equipment form China by air on Saturday, the foreign minister told MTI.
Péter Szijjártó said another two aircraft would bring 3,270,000 surgical masks to Budapest on Sunday.
Hungary also needs to think about the period after the pandemic, about restarting the economy and protecting jobs, he said.
Hungary is availing of the opportunity offered by the European Commission’s decision to scrap a number of “superfluous” rules and taking measures that will keep Hungary the most attractive country for investment in Central Europe, he added.

Let’s hope that Hungary has better luck than Holland: ‘ a newspaper in the Netherlands has revealed that a batch of 600,000 face masks, just delivered to its health service from China, was unusable: ‘They have membranes that do not function properly, so do not block particles of the virus.’
