Hungarian children’s vaccination coverage highest in Europe
The coverage rate of childhood vaccination in Hungary is the highest in the European Union, Ildikó Horváth, Hungary’s state secretary for health care, told public news channel M1 on Sunday.
Speaking of the European Commission’s recently published State of Health in the EU in 2019 report, Horváth noted that Hungarians’ general state of health, life expectancy and healthy life years are improving faster than EU average.
Horváth noted that diseases such as influenza are important factors in individual life expectancy and called on citizens to have themselves vaccinated before the disease reaches epidemic levels, probably in January.
