Hungarian police arrest people smugglers in Slovakia
Hungarian police followed and stopped a car transporting illegal migrants near Bratislava (Pozsony) on Tuesday, the Slovak news agency TASR said.
The Hungarian police followed the car in Hungary after it failed to stop at their request, a spokesperson of the Slovak police told the news agency. They contacted their Slovak colleagues when the car crossed into Slovakia at the Rajka-Rusovce (Oroszvár) border crossing, and stopped it near Bratislava.
The Gyor-Moson-Sopron County police headquarters confirmed the arrest. In a statement on the police.hu website, they said
the Ukrainian driver and two passengers, who claimed to be Turkish, were arrested and handed over to Slovak immigration authorities.
