Iceland’s coach blames ‘inhumane conditions’ in Hungary for their biggest star’s injury
Aron Pálmarsson was injured during the Icelandic team’s match against Montenegro, played as part of the European Handball Championship organised in Budapest. Guðmundur Guðmundsson, the team’s coach, said that the ‘inhumane conditions’ in Hungary caused the injury of his player.
According to Eurosport, Pálmarsson suffered a calf injury during the Iceland vs Montenegro match in Budapest. The star of the national handball team returned from a five-day-long quarantine after he tested positive. The coach of the team said that Pálmarsson could not train during those days, and that is why he was injured.
Iceland won against Montenegro but could not qualify for the semi-finals.
