What happened today in Hungary? – June 2, 2021
Here is our daily debrief. Stories you might have missed:
- Anti-terrorism officers arrest youth planning attacks – officers of Hungary’s anti-terrorism force TEK arrested a young Hungarian Muslim believed to have been planning terrorist attacks in Hungary. Reas more HERE.
- Fudan Budapest’s “new address”: Avenue of Uyghur Martyrs 2 since the local mayor renamed some streets in the neighbourhood of the future Chinese university campus.
- Bitcoin’s founder to receive a statue in Budapest – The statue made of bronze will be erected in the Graphisoft Park, in a green environment where anyone can go and see it for free. Details HERE.
- Tourists not to come to Hungary even this year? – Hopefully, they will do but hotel and restaurant owners are not that optimistic. In the countryside, especially on Lake Balaton, the accommodations expect high attendance, but without an international audience, it might not be worth it reopening in Budapest.
- There is an ice cream shop in Budapest that has created a few new flavours inspired by the solution to the ongoing pandemic. At least we can all agree that if actual vaccines were that tasty, vaccination would be much easier. Want to know more? Click HERE.
- We collected some dog-friendly restaurants HERE, but you can recommend us some more in comment, message or email.
