Next week will mark the arrival of spring in Hungary

Based on the latest weather forecast, temperature may rise to 16 degrees next week. The weather will be sunny. Thus, we can state that spring will arrive after this year’s short and warm winter.

As we wrote today, heat records broke on Saturday in Budapest and Hungary since thermometers recorded almost 20 °C in Sopron, West Hungary. However, it seems the trend will remain next week even though it is still February which is a winter month in this latitude of the northern hemisphere.

According to the Hungarian Meteorological Service, next week will be windy, sometimes gusty, with showers in some parts of the country. But the weather will remain mild with no frosts and daily maximums above 15 °C, index.hu wrote.

Today, there were a lot of downpours in Hungary, a sign of spring. Here are some photos:

This was today’s temperature:

The first half of Monday will be cloudy, but precipitation is expected only in the North and Northeast of Hungary. In the afternoon, the number of clouds will decrease. The temperature will be between 10 and 16 degrees. Only the Tisztántúl (East Hungary) will be colder, with 8-9 degrees.

Tuesday will be sunny with no precipitation, but Western winds will remain strong. The daily maximums will be between 11 and 17 degrees.

Here is a temperature map for Tuesday. It shows an almost early summer. Metkép writes that, on Tuesday, the temperature may hit even 21 degrees in the West:

Wednesday will be sunny in most parts of Hungary. The exceptions will be the Northeastern regions. The wind will be weak, and the temperature may hit 15 degrees.

That temperature will remain in the second half of the week. Meteorologists do not expect too much precipitation, but we should prepare for windy weather. Generally, the Northeastern counties will be colder and the Southwestern ones the warmest. There will be no frost this week, though the sky will remain cloudy.
