Budapest (MTI) – Nobel-laureate author Imre Kertesz on Friday received an honorary degree from the Petru Maior University of Targu Mures (Marosvasarhely) in Budapest.
The university awarded the title to Kertesz for his literary accomplishments, which have contributed greatly to spreading the word on the moral values of life, Tatiana Danescu, vice-rector of the university, said at the awarding ceremony held at the main headquarters of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
“I am just representing myself and my friends, and it feels good to be loved,” the Nobel-laureate author said, highlighting the importance of cooperation among eastern European nations.
