Orban, Audi Hungaria new chief discuss future cooperation
Budapest, December 10 (MTI) – Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on Thursday met Audi Hungaria Motor’s new managing director Peter Koessler to discuss future cooperation between the government and the German carmaker.
Orban told public news channel M1 after the meeting in Parliament that he had reassured Koessler that Hungary would continue to support Audi “through thick and thin”.
He noted that Audi itself employs 11,000 people in Hungary and a total of 20,000 counting the people employed by its suppliers. Orban said the Gyor plant’s most valuable assets are its Hungarian workers, who he said have made Audi Hungaria successful on an international level.
Orban thanked Audi for its corporate social responsibility actions, such as its support for kindergartens, schools and the Szechenyi Istvan University in Gyor (NW Hungary).
Koessler said Audi Hungaria is a “real success story”, adding that Audi had developed a fruitful relationship with the Hungarian government which it intends to continue in the future.
The new managing director said Audi Hungaria is a key subsidiary of the Audi Group. Koessler thanked the Hungarian government for its support of the company’s investments and said Audi Hungaria would expand its cooperation in higher education.
