Orbán holds talks with leader of this Balkan country’s strongest party
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, head of ruling Fidesz, held talks with Hristijan Mickoski, the leader of the Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organisation – Democratic Party for Macedonian National Unity (VMRO-DPMNE) on Tuesday.
Parliamentary elections are expected to be held in North Macedonia in the first half of 2024 and polls show that VMRO-DPMNE is the most popular party. Fidesz and the Hungarian government had previously offered help for the conservative party to prepare for government.
The European Union integration of countries in the Western Balkans was among the topics on the agenda of Tuesday’s talks.
