Parliament to vote on 2017 budget bill
Budapest, June 12 (MTI) – Parliament will finish its spring session on Monday with a final vote on the 2017 budget.
Lawmakers will decide on changes to the bill before the final vote on the budget.Tax cuts and support for home purchases are among the key elements of next year’s budget which puts economic growth at 3.1 percent and targets a fiscal deficit of 2.4 percent of GDP.
MPs will also vote on a measure of decentralisation of the public education system through the replacement of the state school manager Klik with school district centres. The bill would also raise teachers’ pay.
Votes are scheduled to fine-tune the system for compensating investors who lost savings at independent brokerages that went bust last year, to accelerate procedures for refugees and on the accession of Montenegro to NATO.
