Politico: Péter Magyar recruiting leading business figures to secure frozen EU funds

Péter Magyar, leader of the Tisza Party, is recruiting leading business figures for a potential government in the event of a parliamentary election victory, according to the Brussels-based Politico news portal on Monday.
Péter Magyar would secure frozen EU assets
Politico reports that Mr Magyar believes corporate executives with boardroom experience possess the skills needed to regain access to frozen European Union funds and to diminish Fidesz’s grip on state institutions.
Zoltán Tarr, the party’s deputy leader, told the outlet that the primary task is to identify “good managers” capable of implementing change. He added that candidates from the business world have the advantage of lacking prior governmental baggage, which he says would bolster their credibility in reforming state bodies.
“We are primarily seeking names from the business world, because we have certain rules. We cannot work with people who come with certain governmental ‘baggage’. This significantly narrows our options,” Politico quoted Mr Tarr as saying.

5 potential cabinet members
The politician also discussed pursuing pragmatic ties with Brussels and the European Commission to unlock EU funds. The article states that five potential cabinet members have been confirmed so far, aside from Mr Magyar, who is slated to serve as prime minister.
