The Budapest Pride March was held in the capital on Saturday. Waving rainbow flags, the LGBTQ community and their supporters marched down Andrássy Boulevard, past Heroes’ Square to a stage erected in the City Park, where they heard musical performances and speeches by activists.
The poet and translator Orsolya Karafiáth told the crowd it was “tiring” to always have to speak about struggle, hurt and exclusion. She criticised the government for making every effort to make homophobic voices heard.
Under the motto “Take Back Your Future”, participants danced to music from parade trucks. The Hungarian Two-Tailed Dog Party came with its own truck. A rainbow-coloured banner of the Democratic Coalition also appeared in the crowd.

Staff of diplomatic missions in Hungary marched behind a “Diplomats for pride” banner. David Pressman, the United States ambassador to Hungary, as well as Budapest Mayor Gergely Karácsony were among the demonstrators.

A few counter-demonstrators appeared near Heroes’ Square, carrying signs that read “Sin cannot be a matter of pride”, “Stop LGBTQ pedophilia” and “In Hungary, marriage is a union between 1 man and 1 woman, get used to it”.

CitizenGo, a conservative international lobbying group based in Madrid, also held a counter-demonstration near the parade route, holding up signs and banners reading “The silent majority is proud of their country” and “Protect our children from LGBTQ sensitization, brainwashing”.

Bela Teleki, who was in charge of the CitizenGo counter-demonstration, told MTI that the silent majority in Hungary were proud of their country and their families. CitizenGo wants to prevent LGBTQ ideology from infiltrating families and corrupting society, he added.

The EU countries can go fly a kite. Gee, no one was gunned down and killed. No fights broke out during the paraded. All members and audience were safe. How many other countries can say the same.
Just as an after note, 70 were gunned down on a weekend in Chicago.
Maria once again raises her voice in ignorance. Chicago equates somehow to Pride Budapest? We should be happy no one was “gunned down”? Yesterday there was absolutely no mention of the Pride Parade in this paper, not even the usual one about traffic. So much for a parents unconditional love when their child is gay, isn’t that right Victor?
There were more cops than attendees. What a waste of taxpayers’ money. You’re gay. We get it. We don’t care. Yet, they keep pushing it on us. With credit to Zuby, it’s gone from “toleration” to celebration to indoctrination to domination. Many Western cities look like conquered countries during this period; just look at Regent Street in London. It’s clear as night follows day that this is not about any “pride” anymore but about getting to the kids: both mentally and, increasingly often, physically.
And Pressboy was there. Of course he was.
Great to see happy people showing their happiness and celebrating love. Sad, that you have to have so many police to protect happy people walking down the street. If people were to tolerate different minorities, you wouldn’t need to waste tax payers’ money on police protection.

It’s a known fact, that pedophilia is the most common among conservative religious communities – especially in the Catholic Church. I guess it’s the religious people’s strategy to blame others, especially LGBTQ community, to steer away the attention from their own sick religious culture.

I think Michael is confusing football fans with Pride march. Sport fanatics are the ones conquering cities and creating chaos all over European cities.
Fact, when you reach adolescence and start to feel your sexuality, you are either gay or bi or hetero.
The non gay community don’t get this simple concept.
And as for protecting children from pedophiles and abusers, you first have to look to the Catholic church, who are by far the greatest abusers of children.
I as a regular church going Catholic have accepted that our own house is not in order.

In the past (7) seven days – transformations FACTUALLY in the way we THINK politically – have BEEN witnessed.
It WAS NEEDED, but it’s just the beginning in the long PROCESS to “RID” us of the Government, under the Prime Minister, as he is WOBBLE – playing out his position, at this point in time – Victor M. Orban, who is the Leader of the Fidesz Political Party, the Fidesz led Government of Hungary.
These are just few comments I make, that on the question of the GAY thing in Hungary, there are humongous LARGER Fish to Fry, problems to SORT out, than continuing the GAY thing and place in LIFE in Hungary.

Statistically – 43% of our AGEING Population are baptized Catholics.
Statistically – just 9% – sit there “bums” in the pews of near empty churches in Hungary, and practice there Faith.
I’m Catholic, but a FRANCIZED one, meaning I don’t always agree with Pope Francis.

The GAY thing that remains a “Head Fuck” for Erdo, in Hungary – is that Erdo, doesn’t practice OBEDIENCE to Rome – to Pope Francis – who speaks to ALL – that in this World – we must RESPECT all – each other. Everyone.
There Pope Francis words and does Erdo in his OBEDIENCE to the “sitter” on the Chair of St. Peter in Rome – does Erdo “promote” – the Holy Father words – NO no no.

Hungary – baptized of the Roman Catholic Faith / Church – 43% of our AGEING Population – the mere mention of this FACT or my Religion – the MAJOR position and place it occupies – in the day to day life of being Hungarian – my opinion of GROW Up to Hungary, is POINTED at – Peter Erdo, and the Church, the Holy Roman Catholic Church of Hungary, that his Cardinalship, being it’s “Spiritual Father” – the NEED to GROW Up.
