Budapest, November 10 (MTI) – Prime Minister Viktor Orban signed a cooperation agreement with Ferenc Kovacs, the mayor of Nyiregyhaza, in the northeast, under the government’s Modern Cities Programme, on Tuesday.
Under the programme, a 320-hectare industrial park will be built, complete with road infrastructure, and a bicycle path will be constructed to connect the city with Tokaj, the prime minister told a press conference after the signing ceremony.
The government will also provide subsidies to buy buses for Nyiregyhaza’s public transport, and construct a 200-bed hotel and an athletics complex, Orban added.
Through the programme, Nyiregyhaza could become an economic centre of the country by 2020, the prime minister said.
