PM Orbán’s MP resigns
The National Election Committee on Thursday assigned in its decision the parliamentary mandate of Balázs Győrffy, recently resigned MP of the ruling parties, to former MEP Balázs Hidvéghi.
Under the law, the party winning the seat later vacated has the right to nominate a successor. In this case, Fidesz and the allied Christian Democrats nominated Hidvéghi, 272nd on the alliance’s joint party list in the 2022 parliamentary elections.

In a normal democracy a by-election would be called for the riding. Hungarian law is corrupt. It allows the party to force a representative on you that you never voted for and might truly dislike, Fidesz could decide to put one of their pedophile enablers as a representative and you wouldn’t be able to stop it. Balazs Hidveghi has no mandate from the people of the riding to represent them. He is an unelected appointee.

Larry, you are wrong. In the US if a Senator dies or quits, the Governor of the Senator’s state has the right to appoint a member of the same party. Do some research or could read news from other parts of the world. You are ruining your credibility.
