Pompeii relics to be displayed in Szeged
Budapest (MTI) – Some 120 objects unearthed at the site of the ancient Roman city Pompeii will be exhibited in the Mora Ferenc Museum of Szeged, in southern Hungary, in summer.
The 2,000 year-old relics, borrowed mostly from the Archaeology Museum of Naples and to be presented in central Europe for the first time, will be displayed together with contemporaneous objects from other Hungarian museums, Otto Fogas, head of the Szeged museum, told a press conference. He added that so far the collection has only been on display in large museums such as the British Museum.
The Pompeii exhibition in Szeged will be open for six months.
