Renewed bath opened in town near Lake Balaton

From 9 AM on 1 April, the Galerius Experience Bath and Wellness Centre in Siófok will reopen its doors after a five-year closure due to technical issues, followed by a EUR 4.7 million refurbishment, the operator announced on Tuesday.

Ágota Kósz, managing director of the municipally owned Balaton-parti Kft, told MTI that the bath received a EUR 2.1 million grant from EU funds via the TOP Plus programme. This was supplemented by a EUR 1.4 million loan taken out by the company and EUR 700,000 in municipal funding. The facility has been upgraded with 21st-century technical, technological and safety features, while its attractions have been expanded, the Hungarian News Agency wrote.

Tamás Kolics, the facility manager, said adult tickets will cost HUF 6,000, with youth and pensioner tickets at HUF 4,800. Entry is free for children under six, and family and swimming tickets are also available.

The Siófok council website noted that local residents will receive a 25% discount on ticket prices, in line with a decision by the municipal assembly.

Opened in 2006, the Galerius was forced to close in the summer of 2021 for technical reasons. Thermal water from Nagyberény will once again fill its thermal pools, according to siofok.hu.
