Hungary condemns Rwandan attack on Democratic Republic of Congo, calls for troop withdrawal

“We have received concerning news from the border between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda,” Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said on Facebook late on Tuesday, after talks with his Congo counterpart, Therese Kayikwamba.

Kayikwamba briefed Szijjártó on the attack by Rwandan forces on the DRC. “We strongly condemn the attack on the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the murder of civilians and peacekeepers, and call on the Rwandans to withdraw their troops from the area of the DRC,” Szijjártó said.
