Ryanair launches three new routes from Budapest! – Here are the destinations

With the recently announced three new routes, the Irish low-cost airline will operate 500 flights per week in the summer. Here are the destinations!

After having suspended its flights in Ukraine, Ryanair has also announced the cancellation of its routes between Budapest and Kiev, Lviv and Odessa. Flights are diverted to other destinations, and three new routes will be launched from the Hungarian capital. Accordingly, Warsaw-Modlin, Alghero and Burgas on the Bulgarian coast are also on the list of destinations in the summer timetable.

The latter can be accessed twice a week from the Hungarian capital from 11th April, Airportal reported. The flights will be operated by Buzz, Ryanair’s Budapest-based subsidiary, on Monday and Friday mornings.

To further strengthen its presence in Hungary, the Irish low-cost airline will operate 500 weekly flights to Budapest this summer.

This means 150 more flights compared to the pre-pandemic period.

The expansion is carried out on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Ryanair’s Budapest base, Spabook reported.

Accordingly, the low-cost airline has launched its most expansive Budapest schedule for this summer. Jason McGuinness, Ryanair’s Commercial Director, revealed that two new aircrafts with an additional investment of $200 million will be given to the Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport

The airline’s investment of over $800 million will support 240 direct jobs and 4,000 indirect jobs in the Budapest region.

Ryanair’s fleet based in Budapest will thus be expanded to eight aircrafts this year, two of which will be new-generation Boeing 737 8-200s (re-badged versions of the infamous Max type). The expanded fleet will cover a total of 62 routes, including 11 new destinations. Destinations will include Stockholm, Krakow, Turin, Burgas, Warsaw, Alghero, and increased frequencies to Athens, Corfu, Barcelona, Malaga, Palma and Paphos.

  1. I am a retired (Hungarian) pilot of a 737 (living in Canada). After reading the way that airline operates forcing their flight crews to fly with the absolute legal minimum fuel for example….you will NEVER. see me on one of their flights. You’ve been warned.

  2. Alghero, one of the three new Raynair destinations, is not in Bulgaria as reported in the article but in Italy, more precisely in the north of Sardinia.

    • Dear Cristiano, we’ve never stated the Alghero is in Bulgaria. Please, read it once again: “Accordingly, Warsaw-Modlin, Alghero and Burgas on the Bulgarian coast are also on the list of destinations in the summer timetable.” We meant the town Burgas. Nevertheless, we always appreciate it if you find a mistake and report it to us. We always thrive to be accurate.
