Sexual diseases are spreading fast in Hungary!

According to borsonline.hu, the rate of people suffering in sexually transmitted infections is higher in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County than the national average. However, even the national average has constantly been rising in the last few years.

The real danger is that they are symptom-free

The three most frequent sexually transmitted disease in Hungary are Syphilis, Chlamydia, and Gonorrhoea. The biggest threat is that many people do not even know that they are infected since these illnesses are symptom-free at the beginning. Thus, they put at risk their partners who do not even suspect that they can be infected.

Based on the healthcare statistics, in 2017 29 women were suffering from Syphilis in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County

from which 12 were pregnant.

In fact, for their babies, the infection can cause permanent damage. According to borsonline.hu, this kind of disease is frequent in regions without a proper health culture, but transit tourism also raises its prevalence. Furthermore, venereal diseases are widespread among people living in a dangerous social environment. Catching Syphilis is easy, but the healing process is lengthy. The situation is the same in case of Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea. They are curable, but

patients need permanent treatment.

According to family doctor Tamás Bense, those have to turn to a doctor who experiences defluxion, itchiness or painful urination.

Some diseased people try to infect others

According to the data of the National Center for Epidemiology, hospitals treated 62 patients in 2016 November with Syphilis which is 75 pc more than a year before. Furthermore, 3/4th of the infections were reported from Budapest.

Moreover,

the situation in this regard is getting worse.

According to the institute’s observations, the number of sexually transmitted infections has been rising massively for years. For example, in 2010 1,170 people were suffering from Gonorrhoea while this number rose to 1,620 in 2014 which means a 40 pc growth.

Apart from the three above mentioned infections, there is one more that affects many Hungarians: the HIV. The number of diseased people rises by 250-300 every year, and since one can live even for ten years carrying the virus, this means that they can also infect several other people. To make matters worse, some HIV-patients know about their illness but

try to infect as many people as they can just to make them suffer as he or she does.
