Snow arrived in Hungary – VIDEO, PHOTOS
We wrote yesterday that this winter’s first snow might arrive in Hungary. And the meteorologists were right. There was an intensive snowfall in the upper regions of some mountains in Hungary. Meanwhile, the Lake Balaton region was hit by hail. We can say that Hungary’s weather was diverse.
According to idokep.hu, a Hungarian meteorology news website, KékestetÅ‘, Hungary’s highest peak (1014m), saw the first snowfall this winter in Hungary. The frozen precipitation arrived on Saturday afternoon and lasted until the evening. Norbi Demecs, a local tour guide, was on the hill and took some photos of the snow and the snowfall. Unfortunately, yesterday’s snow melted quickly. According to IdÅ‘kép, today will be sunny on Kékes. In the afternoon, the temperature will be between 7-13 °C.
However, in some places, snow remained. HERE is the webcam of the Bánkút Ski Centre, where a thin layer of snow remained.
Based on the weather forecast of the Hungarian Meteorological Services, frost will arrive in Hungary this evening. On the Southern and Southwestern parts of the country, it will be sunny, while in the Northeast, clouds will disappear. There will be no precipitation today, but the winds might become strong. The daily maximums will be between 8 and 13 degrees, while late night will decrease to -1 and +7 degrees, 24.hu wrote. Even though the weather is milder than the November average, the nights will become frosty from Sunday.
