PHOTOS, VIDEOS: Winter is here, snow has covered multiple Hungarian regions!

A cold front reached Hungary this weekend, ending the short, warm spring period we experienced in the final days of January. The cold front brought precipitation, which fell in the form of snow in the Northern and Northeastern areas of Hungary. In some places, the snow layer is 3-5cm thick.
According to Szeretlek Magyarország, in many places in Northeastern Hungary, it has been snowing since last night. The intensity of the snowfall varies, but there are some places where the snow layer’s thickness already reached 3-5cm. The temperature is around freezing point, and the snow’s texture is ideal for building snowmen or becoming engaged in a snowball battle. In Budapest, snow is falling in multiple districts, but it is not expected to remain.

Among the Hungarian ski parks, Mátraszentistván is in the best condition since it was covered by fresh snow by this morning. In Eplény, the temperature is perfect to restart the snow cannons, so the ski slope can await visitors with a fresh snow layer.
