Spectacular photos of the partial solar eclipse
On 25 October, there was a partial solar eclipse, covering a good third of the sun. The phenomenon lasted for about two hours and could be seen from many places. Here are some beautiful pictures of the solar eclipse.
The phenomenon, which lasted for about two hours, could be seen from several locations. During the eclipse, the Moon swam in front of the Sun as seen from Earth, and the Moon’s shadow was cast onto the Earth. Since the Moon and the Earth’s orbital plane are 5.5 degrees apart, the Moon is usually not on the line of the Earth and the Sun during a new moon, but above or below it. Eclipses are therefore rare and special events, szmo.hu reports.
The last time an eclipse like this was observed in 2015, when the Moon covered 59 percent of the Sun’s area. The next major eclipse, with 47 percent visible from Hungary, will occur on 2 August 2027, MTI reports.
