Stadium inauguration in Szolnok
Budapest, April 9 (MTI) – Prime Minister Viktor Orbán participated at the inauguration of the Tiszaliget Stadium in Szolnok, central Hungary, on Saturday.
Rebuilding the stadium cost more than 2 billion forints (EUR 6.4m), of which 600 million was covered by the local football club, 400 million by the state and the rest through corporate sponsorship linked to tax preferences, Orbán said.
Orbán noted that the number of children and families doing more to take care of their health had grown since the introduction of daily physical education in schools. “If we want youth who are strong of body and character for our country, money must be spent on sport,” he added.
To discover new talent, all youth must be given a chance to participate in sport in the place where they live, which requires facilities, teachers, instructors and coaches, Orbán said.
The rebuilt stadium has a capacity for 3,437 spectators.
