State to set up Makovecz memorial centre
Budapest, June 14 (MTI) – The government has decided to set up a memorial centre dedicated to Imre Makovecz who was an internationally renowned proponent of organic architecture, the official gazette Magyar Közlöny said on Monday.
In line with the decision, his former studio and home will be used for the memorial centre which will also display some personal articles and prominent interior objects.
The government has decided to allocate up to 400 million forints (EUR 1.3m) from this year’s budget for the state to buy real estate and personal articles for the memorial centre.
