Survey among young people: Is Jobbik three and a half times cooler than Fidesz?

Change language:
In the Eastern Central European region, Hungarian youth feel the least happy and they also have an overwhelmingly negative opinion of the current Orbán government. Jobbik’s Youth Platform, aware of its own responsibility, rings the warning bell yet again: it is high time to introduce a new approach in Hungarian youth policy which has remained largely unchanged over the past 26 years.
According to an opinion poll conducted by the Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS) of Brussels, the American Global Progress and AudienceNet, Hungarian youth between 16 and 36 suffer the most from the lack of prospects and are the most pessimistic about their future even compared to other Central Eastern European countries, and they have a similarly bad opinion of the Hungarian education and healthcare system as well. There are three times more young people dissatisfied with their lives than in Poland and Bulgaria, and five times more than in Austria. These figures provide a clear feedback for the Fidesz government: it is unable to handle the problem and it fails to offer prospects for Hungarian youth. No wonder so many Hungarian people still feel forced to find a job abroad.
