Swimming legend Darnyi was hit by a truck in the US

Sad news came from Florida –Hungarian swimming legend, Tamas Darnyi, became the victim of a car accident, blikk.hu reports.

According to the information, provided to the press, Darnyi wanted to surprise his wife with a fresh flower bouquet; in order to accomplish his mission, the Olympic champion took a bicycle from Delray Beach and rode around to find a local flower shop. Little did he know that this trip was going to alter his life.

According to the Hungarian magazine Blikk, Darnyi’s bicycle collided with an auto truck, which knocked the athlete over. After the wreck mentioned vehicle drove away, leaving Tamas Darnyi as a potential victim in a Hit-and-Run accident. However, minutes later the driver must have changed his mind and returned to help the Olympic champion. In the hospital doctors have diagnosed Darnyi with the fracture of the collarbone (clavicle).

“Tamas is still reeling under the shock of the accident; he is very shaken by these events. However, he would like to forget about the incident and get back to his normal life as soon as possible.” – Said the lawyer, Peter Ronai, who will represent the legendary swimmer in the Court of Law.
