Szentkirályi: Karácsony, Magyar form pact in Budapest
Alexandra Szentkirályi, the head of ruling Fidesz’s Budapest chapter, on Tuesday, said Gergely Karácsony, the city’s mayor, and Péter Magyar, who heads the opposition Tisza party, had formed a pact in the capital.

“There are more and more reports saying that Gergely Karácsony and Péter Magyar plan to lead the capital together,” Szentkirályi said in a video posted on Facebook.
“This isn’t what Budapest residents voted for,” she said. “The people of Budapest got to see for years that to Karácsony, leading the city is about nothing more than favouring [Democratic Coalition leader] Ferenc Gyurcsány’s people.”
She said this was exactly what Budapest residents had rejected in the local council elections this summer, adding that Fidesz also said “no” to the “Karácsony-Magyar pact if it’s about continuing things the way they were”.
“We, on the other hand, are on the side of Budapest residents because Budapest deserves more,” Szentkirályi said.
