Unexpected Ryanair decision concerning summer 2025 flights affects Hungary

More Ryanair flights come to Hungary this summer

Ryanair plans to reduce capacities by 18% in 12 routes this summer compared to the summer of 2024 in Spain. That means deleting approximately 800,000 seats, a decision that would hit Spain’s tourism. Meanwhile, they plan to transfer freed capacities to other countries where governments facilitate growth. The good news is that one of the target countries is Hungary.

According to portfolio.hu, Ryanair, one of Europe’s largest low-cost airlines, was outraged by the decision of the Spanish state-owned Aena airport operator to increase operation fees. As a result, they decided to reduce capacities in Spain by 18%, which means deleting 800,000 seats in 12 routes. Based on their relevant statement, the Irish budget airline said they would delete flights to Jerez and Valladolid. Meanwhile, they will cut flight frequency to Vigo, Santiago de Compostela, Zaragoza, and Santander. Experts believe the measure will affect the Spanish tourism sector, especially on the economy of regional destinations.

More Ryanair capacities in Hungary

Ryanair said they would relocate those capacities to countries where governments facilitate growth. The target countries include Hungary, Croatia, Morocco, Sweden, and Italy. Spain’s tourism sector expanded in 2024, airports welcomed 309 million tourists last year, a record number. Spanish authorities remain optimistic about the future and calculate further growth in the sector. However, Ryanair’s decision might mean a step back for multiple regions, especially in towns where they do not plan to fly this summer. Ryanair did not share any details concerning which new flights they would start from Hungary or on which routes they would increase flight frequency.

Ryanair left Hungarian families even with small kids at Valencia airport

Ryanair left Hungarian families in Valencia

The Hungarian Parliament Speaker called the floods that hit southern and eastern parts of Spain one of the most destructive natural disasters of recent years. The floods claimed an extremely high number of lives and affected even air traffic in the region. The death toll has already passed 100. According to Blikk, Ryanair left Hungarian families without help at the Valencia airport. A mother of three waited hours at the crowded terminals but they were denied boarding.

Moreover, the Irish low-cost airline’s plane flew back to Hungary with their clothes and left them in Valencia for two more days without proper clothing.

Mariann Szabó told Blikk that the situation was disastrous in the Valencia region. On Wednesday, when their flight was due, the taxi queue was 4 kilometres long. That is because everybody was stuck at the airport. Passengers landing there could not get out, so many of the outgoing passengers could not get to the gates.

Ryanair plane leaves without Hungarian family

The Hungarian consulate in the city wanted to help but could not solve the situation.

She and her husband got to the airport in time with their three kids but only two bag drop desks operated. Their plane took off with a delay of only 1 hour and 15 minutes but only their luggage was on board.

Mariann does not understand why their plane left with their bags. She said that after they were past the hours-long check-in procedure, they rushed to the gates because there was no information about their departure.

Experts told Mariann that Ryanair probably broke air travel safety rules by transporting their luggage home but leaving them at the airport. She states there was no last call, and no one provided information.

The airport did not provide even a bottle of water

After they were left there they waited for additional hours only to learn that Ryanair believes it was their fault that they could not embark on their plane. They were outraged, so finally, Ryanair rebooked their flight on a plane departing two days later, and from another city.

They spent one night in Valencia, then rented a car and drove to Malaga. She said the clothing, food and accommodation they need will require an additional EUR 1,250.

They do not plan to start a legal procedure against the airline but demand compensation. Mariann said they begged a Spanish driver to take them back to the city. She said many stood in the queue for hours even with crying kids, which was heartbreaking to see. Furthermore, the airport did not give them even a bottle of water, she said.

Blikk asked Ryanair for comment but has not received a reply yet.

Hungarian Speaker expresses sympathy with Spain over flood victims

László Kövér, Hungary’s speaker of parliament, has sent messages of condolences to speakers of Spain’s House of Representatives and Senate expressing his sympathy over the victims of recent floods in Spain.

In the messages addressed to Francina Armengol Socias and Pedro Rollan Francina Armengol, respectively, Kövér voiced his “deep shock” over the floods that hit southern and eastern parts of Spain, claiming “an extremely high number of lives”.

Kövér added he hoped that Spain could repair the damage caused by “one of the most destructive natural disasters of recent years”.

New flight from Budapest Airport to the idyllic Spanish Riviera

Ryanair is set to launch a new flight from Budapest, connecting the Hungarian capital with a picturesque region of the Spanish Riviera on the Mediterranean Sea. According to the plan, two flights per week will operate between Hungary and Spain, starting next summer.

New flight from Budapest Airport

Budflyer, a Hungarian travel news Facebook page, reported on the new flight from Budapest this morning. They said that Ryanair had won a marketing bid for Castellón Airport, which aimed to support the introduction of low-cost airline services.

Budapest was one of the destinations included in the bidding process. As per the plans, Ryanair will operate two weekly flights from Budapest to the Spanish airport. The first flight is scheduled to take off next summer. Previously, Wizz Air, Ryanair’s biggest competitor, operated two weekly flights on this route.

Ryanair’s major announcement regarding check-in

Michael O’Leary, CEO of the Irish low-cost airline, announced yesterday that paper boarding passes will be phased out by May 2025. Additionally, Ryanair will remove check-in desks from airports entirely. Passengers will be required to check in online or via the app, potentially helping to avoid issues such as overbooking.

We previously reported HERE that 18 passengers were denied boarding on a Wizz Air flight from Nice due to overbooking. In that instance, 18 more tickets had been sold than there were seats available. An eyewitness commented that, “although overbooking does happen, they had never known more than 3–4 people to be affected.”

Vacation nightmare: Hungarian couple loses EUR 5,000 after being denied boarding on Ryanair flight

rhodes greece ryanair vacation ruined

A Hungarian couple was not allowed to board a Ryanair flight from Budapest to Rhodes, according to Blikk. One of them told the tabloid that a ground staff member called the police on them, suspecting they were intoxicated. Both passengers were subjected to alcohol and drug tests, which came back negative. As a result of the incident, the couple claims to have lost HUF 2 million (EUR 5,000) due to their ruined holiday and were also blacklisted by Ryanair.

An exciting start to a dream holiday

The couple had been looking forward to their vacation, but instead of enjoying the beaches and cocktails in Rhodes, they were humiliated, had the police called on them, and underwent sobriety and drug tests, Blikk reports. Kinga Piák and István Rill’s “dream holiday” took a sharp turn for the worse last Monday when they were denied boarding on an early morning flight to Rhodes under accusations of being under the influence of alcohol.

Kinga and István had been planning their holiday for months. They, along with two Swiss friends, headed to the airport, excited about their stay at a luxury hotel in Rhodes. Ryanair’s flight was scheduled to depart at 6 AM, and both couples arrived at the check-in counter as planned.

Things suddenly went wrong

Kinga told Blikk that she was still a bit sleepy in the early hours but excited about the trip. While waiting for boarding, her partner and a friend went to the restroom. A ground staff member reportedly urged them to hurry up. After rejoining, the staff member accused them of smelling like alcohol and told them they wouldn’t be allowed to board. Despite the fact that they hadn’t consumed any alcohol, they were pulled aside as if they had done something wrong.

The situation worsened when the staff seemed to enjoy their growing panic, as other passengers were getting ready to board. Though initially told they could rush to the plane, their journey ended when four uniformed police officers arrived and escorted them off the bus heading to the aircraft. Other passengers were likely startled by the scene.

Blacklisted by Ryanair

The couple was brought back to the terminal, where the police informed them that their vacation was over. Kinga insisted on sobriety tests, which eventually confirmed that neither of them was under the influence. By the time they were cleared, the flight had already departed, leaving them stranded and humiliated. Their luggage was returned, but they were told they were now blacklisted by Ryanair.

Frustrated by the incident, the couple plans to take legal action against the airline and Celebi, the company employing the ground staff member responsible for the ordeal. Their lawyer has already begun the necessary procedures.

In response to Blikk’s inquiry, Ryanair stated that by purchasing a ticket, passengers agree to the airline’s terms and conditions, which allow them to deny boarding if a passenger is deemed a threat to themselves, other passengers, or the crew.

New flight to Eastern metropolis remains, Ryanair’s Budapest flight delayed by 28 hours

Budapest flight to Eastern metropolis Beijing

Air China will continue to operate 4 flights weekly between the Chinese capital and Budapest with their Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. In the meantime, Ryanair passengers had to wait more than 28 hours for their return flight to Budapest in Milan.

According to airportal.hu, the Chinese airline plans 4 direct flights between Budapest and Beijing even in their winter timetable. The new schedule will start on 27 October. The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners will carry passengers on Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. Planes will depart from Beijing at 2.55 AM local time, land in Budapest at 6.25 AM (Budapest time), then return to the Chinese capital under the CA 720 flight number at 11.25 AM (Budapest time) to arrive at 3:35 AM local time.

Air China will fly between Budapest and Chongqing once a week with Dreamliners. The Chinese airline increased the number of flights between Budapest and Beijing from two to three this April. In most of the summer schedule, a 4th plane commuted.

Fewer flights to South Korea

According to Budflyer, in the winter period, Polish LOT plans only two Budapest-Seoul flights weekly. Furthermore, they do not plan to operate 4 flights weekly in the 2025 summer session.

Passengers waited 28 hours for their Budapest return flight

According to 444.hu, passengers returning to Budapest landed on Sunday instead of Saturday with their Ryanair flight. The delay was almost 28 hours.

One of the passengers told RTL Klub that they received a EUR 4 voucher in Milan, but could not buy anything. At dawn, the airline took them to a two-star hostel, which they had to leave at noon to return to the airport and continue waiting more than 12 hours.

The Budapest government office is conducting 15 probes concerning delays and cancellations of airlines like Wizz Air, Ryanair, and Eurowings. Passengers of three airlines already got compensation. We noted today that Hungarocontrol rewrote air traffic controllers’ schedule to have more employees working in the 5 AM–7 AM time slot. As a result, morning delays could be reduced. Such delays resulted in serious problems all over Europe in June. However, the core of the problem has not been solved: there are still not enough traffic controllers due to low salaries.

Wizz Air may beat Ryanair in Budapest this winter

ryanair wizz air airlines destinations Hungarian authorities

The new routes announced by the Hungarian low-cost airline mean it would beat Ryanair in Budapest this winter. However, the Irish competitor may announce new flights in August and September. Ryanair and Wizz Air regularly communicate that they are market leaders in Hungary, and Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary becomes outraged if somebody questions their leadership.

Wizz Air can beat Ryanair in Budapest in October

In February, Ryanair head Michael O’Leary said it was a lie that Wizz Air was market-leader in Hungary and added the Hungarian airline had no chance to compete with them even in their home country. But it seems Wizz Air can finally beat their challenger in 2024. And that is good news for the passengers.

According to okosutas.hu, we can only see passenger data later, but concerning the number of destinations from Hungary, Ryanair and Wizz Air were neck and neck.

Wizz Air is to offer 61 flights in their winter schedule from Budapest and two from Debrecen. Meanwhile, Ryanair still stands at 52.

Wizz Air passengers

However, the Irish low-cost carrier regularly announces new flights months before the start of the winter schedule. They promised multiple times that if the government abolished the departure tax, they would expand in Hungary. Even though the Orbán cabinet announced the end of the departure tax this June, nothing has happened yet. Thus, Wizz Air can become the market leader in Hungary.

Based on the latest Ryanair stock exchange report, they could only fill their planes by introducing lower ticket prices. And that is what they expect in the rest of this year, so we may buy cheap tickets.

Wizz Air is scarcely profitable

Wizz Air remained scarcely profitable in Q2 2024. According to portfolio.hu, the passenger numbers were almost the same as in Q2 2023. However, the problem with the Pratt & Whitney engines caused extra costs for the company. Moreover, the changes in the currency exchange rates did not favour the company. Because of that, the management cut back their profit expectations for 2024 (from EUR 500-600M to EUR 350-450M), so shares fell on the London stock market by 16%.

At the end of June, 46 planes were grounded due to engine problems, but the company received compensation. The load factor was 91%, which is a 0.2% decrease. The income of Wizz Air was EUR 1.26 billion, a 1.8% rise. The net profit was only 1 million euros in Q2 2024.

China Southern Airlines opens Budapest office

China Southern Airlines will open an office in Budapest, the company’s board of directors decided on 29 July. There will be five new offices worldwide: in Doha, Riyadh, Budapest, Vladivostok and Yerevan. Currently, the Hungarian market belongs to their Frankfurt office, Budflyer wrote.

Surprising Flightright results: here’s how reliable Wizz Air is

wizz air base

Horror stories emerged in the last few weeks about holidaymakers stuck at different airports because their planes could not take off or did not even show up. Some groups even had to wait days, even with small children or sick people, and did not receive proper help. Hungarian budget airline Wizz Air was mentioned too many times in such news, and that has consequences.

Significant delays in European airspace

We wrote about the last delayed Wizz Air plane on 3 July. The flight from Catania (Sicily) to Budapest was due to leave at 6.25 PM on 1 July but took off only on 3 July at 3.27 AM.

An Austrian air traffic controller head said Europe struggled with delays and named the Hungarian HungaroControl as a main contributor. The Hungarian company struggles with a labour shortage, so colleagues are overworked. Since Hungary is a main air traffic route, that has dire consequences for the entire continent.

Telex managed to talk to some insiders at HungaroControl, who cleared that the situation was not that simple. For example, they accused the budget airlines of leaving too little time for turnarounds. Therefore, sometimes the behaviour of a single passenger can cause serious delays and lead to a snowball effect. We wrote about the other side of the coin in THIS article.

Hungarian Wizz Air is not among the top worst European airlines

Flightright, the leading European portal for passenger rights, measured the performance of the twenty biggest European airlines. They brought surprising news for Wizz Air.

Experts at the portal measured three categories: reliability (delays and cancellations), payment policy and customer opinion.

The overall results showed that Hungarian Wizz Air was the seventh worst airline in Europe, preceded by British Airways and Lufthansa, which was surprising for many Western European portals. Out of the five stars they could have collected, Wizz got 2.60. Ryanair is 10th on that list with 2.65. The best one was Transavia France (3.49).

Wizz Air is a reliable airline, but passengers are dissatisfied

Concerning reliability, the delays and cancellations of the individual airlines were assessed. Interestingly, Wizz Air is not on the negative end of the list, the first four places went to Air Dolomiti, Lufthansa, British Airways and KLM. That means they are the most unreliable airlines in Europe. Wizz Air got four stars in that category, which means it is in one league with Vueling, Ryanair, easyJet and Condor.

Given customer satisfaction, Wizz Air performed the worst. The Hungarian airline collected only 1.79 stars, which means they are at the top of the negative list. The category includes how satisfied passengers are with customer service, information sharing policies, and help they get from the airlines, turizmus.com wrote. There is much space for development for the Hungarian airline in that regard.

Considering payment policy, Wizz Air did not perform well. They got two stars, only Turkish Airlines being behind them with 1.

Is Hungarian air traffic control behind the chaos and delayed flights in Europe?

Hungarian air traffic controllers

Recently, there have been numerous delayed and cancelled flights across Europe. Is Hungarian air traffic control responsible for these persistent issues? During the summer, it is normal for increased travel to cause some disruption. Additionally, Euro 2024 has attracted many football fans, further straining the system. Air transport requires coordination among airports, airlines, ground handlers and air traffic controllers (ATC) to ensure passenger safety. Therefore, if problems arise, it is worth scrutinising all four participants.

Hungarian air traffic control

As Telex writes, discussions with experts have revealed that European air traffic control is facing significant challenges, with Budapest emerging as a key contributor to delays in European airspace. The primary issue lies in handling through traffic rather than take-offs and landings. Since the beginning of the year, Budapest has frequently topped the list for delays per flight, largely due to a severe staff shortage at HungaroControl, the Hungarian air traffic control company.

Hungarian air traffic controllers
Photo: FB/HungaroControl

Staff shortage

Despite a slight increase in controllers from 179 to 185 since 2019, the number of aircraft managed has surged by 25-30% due to airspace closures from the war in Ukraine and airline capacity expansions. This spike in traffic has led to unsolvable situations, especially overflights, making HungaroControl a significant source of delays in May and June.

HungaroControl faces a significant challenge as increased tasks outpace staff growth. Despite reinforced services to maintain aviation safety amid extreme weather, labour disputes and a COVID-19 strike ban have led to a shortage of skilled workers. The Austrian transport union has appealed to Hungary, due to the EU Council presidency, to address the issue.

Hungarian air traffic controllers
Photo: FB/HungaroControl

Increased sector divisions

Air traffic control faces challenges during peak periods like summer, necessitating increased sector divisions to manage high traffic volumes effectively. Staffing shortages often lead to operational delays as Hungarian air traffic controllers manage immense responsibility. HungaroControl struggles with wage competitiveness despite profitability, raising governance concerns. Hungarian air traffic controllers, who face strict training requirements, are overburdened, further complicating recruitment and retention efforts.

Low-cost carriers like Ryanair and Wizz Air criticise ongoing disruptions and flight cancellations due to staffing and equipment shortages at Eurocontrol’s Maastricht centre, despite flight levels remaining below pre-pandemic norms.

 Is Budapest to blame?

Index asked air travel expert Gábor Varga G. on the issue. He says, “If it were up to Budapest alone whether a flight could leave on time, there would not be so many delays”. He also notes that several factors contribute to aircraft delays, with Wizz Air highlighting that the issue extends well beyond the airlines’ control.

Ryanair scandal in Cyprus: Hungarian passengers left stranded without assistance and water

Ryanair new flight from Budapest jet fuel

Reports have surfaced of Irish low-cost airline Ryanair treating Hungarian passengers poorly on a flight from Cyprus to Budapest, causing a significant uproar.

Ryanair betrays passengers

Recent accounts detail a chaotic scene on a Ryanair flight from Paphos to Budapest, which was scheduled to depart at 16:25 on 26 June. After boarding, passengers were left waiting inside the plane with the doors closed on the tarmac for an additional 2 hours and 35 minutes, finally taking off at 7 PM, Világgazdaság writes.

Unsurprisingly, many passengers were frustrated. Ryanair’s handling of the situation exacerbated the problem, as they did not provide water or any other assistance, despite having children and elderly passengers on board. “For them, this was the cheapest solution, and they completely disregarded the needs of the passengers,” wrote one affected individual in a social media post.

The passenger argued that this kind of prolonged “detention” was illegal and that an airport waiting area should have been provided. After an hour and a half, this demand was formally recorded, and the captain was made aware that keeping passengers on board for more than two hours was unlawful. The captain acknowledged this.

Loophole in flight delay compensation

Upon landing in Budapest, several passengers filed complaints regarding the delay. However, it was revealed that since the flight distance exceeded 1,500 kilometres, compensation would only be provided for delays over three hours. As a result, it is expected that all complaints will be dismissed.

The passenger who described the incident also filed a consumer report and initiated a lawsuit against Ryanair for damages. “The lesson is that everyone should be prepared with food, water, and mental fortitude for even a seemingly straightforward flight like PFO-BUD or BUD-PFO. If it depends on the airline, the customer might end up dehydrated on board,” the post concluded.

Many comments followed, including one from another affected passenger who flew with two children. They noted that Ryanair had sent a message earlier in the day warning of stormy weather on the return flight. Boarding began roughly 20 minutes late, but no one anticipated significant issues as other flights were departing.

“Once everyone was seated, the captain informed us that we couldn’t take off and didn’t know for how long. The crew was relatively normal. Fortunately, the restroom was accessible, and later, water was provided for a fee,” they added to the original account.

The specific incident was described as a very unpleasant experience, but fortunately, no major issues occurred.

BREAKING: Hungarian authorities launch investigations against Wizz Air, Ryanair, SunExpress, Eurowings!

ryanair wizz air airlines destinations Hungarian authorities

The Government Office of Budapest has launched investigations against budget airlines Wizz Air, Ryanair, SunExpress and Eurowings due to their considerable delays in recent days.

According to Telex, the government office’s statement did not specify which delays were under investigation.

On Sunday, we reported that dozens of fans could not travel to the Scotland-Hungary EURO 2024 group stage match with the German airline Eurowings because its plane departed significantly late. On 15 June, Wizz Air’s aircraft to Dortmund also experienced a delay, causing many fans to miss the Hungarian national team’s first match against Switzerland.

Hungarian authorities may fine budget airlines

The government office will assess whether the airlines complied with the EU’s regulations regarding providing information and assistance to their passengers. If they find any infringements during the investigation, they will initiate criminal proceedings against the budget airlines concerned.

Most delays affected Hungarian fans travelling to see the national team’s matches at EURO 2024. Our team has a chance to advance from the group stage. Based on Eurosport, the prerequisite is a Czech and Georgian defeat or draw against Türkiye and Portugal today.

Is Wizz Air distracting passengers with false baggage information?

Wizz Air passengers All You Can Fly

According to a Hungarian travel news media outlet, the Hungarian low-cost airline operates with multiple errors. For example, Wizz Air may encourage passengers to buy baggage places with false information.

Wizz Air errors corrected

Utazómajom said that the Hungarian budget airline abolished an extra fee thanks to their previous articles and complaining emails. We detailed that HERE. Moreover, they corrected the wrong check-in times during their booking process after the news outlet wrote about it. However, there is one more error they should pay attention to.

The news outlet asked the Hungarian low-cost airline not to share false baggage information. One of the advantages of WIZZ Priority is that “you are entitled to bring with you a free Carry-on Bag (max. size 40 x 30 x 20 cm*) and an extra “Trolley Bag” (max. 55 x 40 x 23 cm*; with or without wheels, but must remain within size, weight limits). It is guaranteed you can bring both bags with you into the cabin area, unless it is impossible due to operational restrictions.”

Does Wizz Air distract passengers?

However, passengers obtaining WIZZ Priority receive “purchase encouraging” information via email before their travel that does not contain the “trolley bag”.

Passengers having enough experience may not be distracted but all others will be. As a result, they may buy additional baggage even though they will not need it. Utazómajom sent the complaint to Wizz Air, but they have not answered yet. They only hope that the Hungarian airline will solve the problem soon.

Ryanair passengers wait more than a day to get home to Budapest

It is not easy to travel these days. We wrote HERE that passengers missed the Hungarian team’s group match against Scotland in Stuttgart because their plane did not take off in time. Moreover, another flight did not take off to Rome because the pilot fell ill.

A Ryanair flight should have taken off in Barcelona at Sunday 9.20 PM but remained in the Catalonian capital. The takeoff was postponed several times, resulting in chaotic scenes at the airport. Finally, passengers were taken to a hotel 40 kilometres away, where they arrived at 2 AM on Monday. They were to travel back at 8 AM, but the bus did not show up.

barcelona ryanair wizz air
Barcelona is beautiful, but delayed and cancelled flights can turn even your holiday into a nightmare. Photo: Pixabay

Instead of a bus, they got an SMS that Ryanair cancelled their new flight as well. Thus, they could depart Spain only at 11.30 PM.

Some passengers did not believe what the Irish budget airline said and came home with a Wizz Air flight, delayed by only one hour. Utazómajom’s last update concerning the issue said that the rest of Ryanair’s passengers were due to leave Barcelona at 2.30 AM today.

Ryanair announces winter timetable: New routes and key changes from Budapest

gran canaria spain ryanair

Irish low-cost airline Ryanair, competitor of Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air, has published its winter timetable, revealing new routes and significant updates for flights from Budapest. Here are the most important changes and new additions.

New Ryanair routes

toulouse france

Firstly, two new routes have been introduced. Ryanair will begin flights to Liverpool, entering direct competition with Wizz Air. Additionally, flights to Toulouse are being reinstated; this route was previously operated by Ryanair but was discontinued two years ago, Okosutas reports.

Route discontinuations

gran canaria spain

Unfortunately, Ryanair will cease operations to Lanzarote. This leaves Budapest with connections to only two of the most well-known Canary Islands. However, Ryanair is increasing flights to Gran Canaria to three per week. Essentially, the weekly flight to Lanzarote is being shifted to Gran Canaria. The Lanzarote route will remain available until the end of October for those wishing to travel directly to the island from Budapest.

Several routes that were discontinued last winter will not be returning. This includes flights to Gothenburg, Bournemouth, and East Midlands. Although the Milan Malpensa route has resumed for the summer, it will not be available in the winter schedule. Passengers can still consider Wizz Air for this destination.

Route expansions

seville spain
Seville, Spain. Photo: depositphotos.com

There are some positive developments as well. The number of flights to Seville will increase to four per week, and the new Faro route, starting in June, will continue through the winter rather than being a seasonal service. The Frankfurt-Hahn route will also be maintained throughout the winter, whereas Rimini will remain a summer-only destination. Additionally, the newly introduced Trieste route will continue to operate during the winter season.

Reinstatement of Amman route

The Amman route was recently suspended due to decreased demand resulting from the Gaza conflict. However, it may resume in November.

This is currently only a snapshot of Ryanair’s winter schedule as of the end of May. While the current schedule is likely to proceed as planned, further announcements regarding new routes may still occur. As for the fares, expect them to become significantly cheaper than the current listings as time progresses.

5 supercheap but mesmerizing destinations from Budapest by plane

budapest airport destinations

Here are five astonishing destinations from Budapest Airport for less than EUR 10 by okosutas.hu, a Hungarian travel news media outlet.

Even though inflation made plane ticket prices increase considerably in the last few years, there are still favourable offers from Budapest Airport to mesmerising destinations. According to okosutas.hu, their list is based on subjective factors. Furthermore, the prices below are available for Wizz Discount Club members, while Ryanair’s starting price is EUR 15-17  from Budapest.

1. Milan

Moreover, such cheap flights are available in spring and summer alike. The airport hub of Milan is a perfect choice to continue your journey anywhere in Europe or the world.

2. Stockholm

Wizz Air and Ryanair are also present on this route, and they both moved their target airport from Nyköping (Skavsta) to the main airport, Arlanda. 3. London
