Temperature record broken in Hungary on Feb 28
The highest national maximum temperature record was broken in Hungary on February 28, the Hungarian Meteorological Service (OMSZ) reports.
At the Kiszombor station in Csongrád county, the temperature rose to 21,6 °C. The previous record was 19.7 °C, established in 1927 in Jászberény.

Photo: met.huThe temperature record was broken in Budapest as well: in District XVIII, at the Pestszentlőrinc meteorological station the measured temperature was 17,4 °C. The previous record was 17,2°C, which was also measured here in 1927.
According to monthly averages, the temperatures above 20 °C are typically measured at the beginning of May.
