Adams suffered a setback on Monday, when his lower left leg was amputated due to necrosis in the limb. In his current condition, doctors say he would be unable to withstand a heart transplant operation or the drug therapy and rehabilitation that would follow. Adams has been using an artificial heart since suffering a major heart attack in Hungary two weeks ago.
