The Hungarian capital celebrated Kazakhstan Republic Day

A diplomatic reception on the occasion of Republic Day was held in Budapest, the capital of Hungary.

The event, organized by the Embassy, was attended by representatives of the Government of Hungary, the State Assembly, ministries and departments, diplomatic corps, as well as representatives of the business community, culture, science and education, experts and members of the Kazakh diaspora.

In his welcoming speech, Ambassador Zhanibek Abdrashov spoke of the historical significance of the Republic Day and familiarised the audience with the main points of Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s speech «Economic Course of Fair Kazakhstan» and the ongoing socio-economic and political reforms in the country.

Zhanibek Abdrashov noted that «Economic changes inspired by the course of the Head of State to build a «Fair Kazakhstan», is designed to contribute to the creation of a more balanced, sustainable and globally integrated economy».

In addition, the Ambassador underlined the unique role that Kazakhstan plays through active diplomatic activity in the international arena, and confirmed that the country will continue to cooperate with key allies on all strategic issues.

Focusing on the bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Hungary, Ambassador noted that the common deep historical roots linking the Kazakh and Hungarian peoples provide great opportunities for successful cooperation and building a bright future. The Ambassador added that «we especially appreciate the fact that Hungary has become our country’s closest and most reliable strategic partner in the European Union».

The State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance Tibor Tóth spoke as an honorary guest of the event from the Hungarian side on behalf of the Hungarian Finance Minister Mihaly Varga, who is the co-chairman of three interstate structures of bilateral cooperation – the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, the Parliamentary Friendship Group and the Strategic Council.

On behalf of the Government of Hungary Tibor Tóth congratulated all Kazakhstanis on the significant event – Republic Day, noting the importance of strong friendship between our countries, which has stood the test of time.

It should be noted that on October 25, 1990 the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Kazakhstan was adopted. This was the first step of our country on the way to Independence. In 2022, by the Decree of the Head of State, October 25 is again included in the calendar as a National Holiday – Republic Day, gov.kz writes.
