The number of vaccinated people reached 5.2 million in Hungary
24 patients, generally elderly with co-morbidities, died over the past 24 hours, while 300 new infections were registered, koronavirus.gov.hu said on Saturday.
So far 5,254,400 people have received a first jab, while 3,966,193 have been fully vaccinated. The number of active infections went down to 61,700, while hospitals are treating 622 Covid patients, 70 of whom need respiratory assistance.
There are 7,759 people in official quarantine, while 5,866,214 tests have been officially carried out. Since the first outbreak, 805,871 infections have been registered, while fatalities have risen to 29,842.
After reaching 5 million vaccinees, another stage of the reopening took effect, many restrictions have been lifted, but basic protection measures are still in place, as the virus is still here.
The use of the mask is still mandatory in all places where protected and unprotected can meet indoors, so it is mandatory to use the mask on public transport and when shopping in stores.
Cultural events, sports events and indoor events, as well as larger outdoor events (attended by more than 500 participants), may be attended by supervised minors and those having immunity certificates. The smaller events (less than 500 participants) held outdoors can be attended by anyone. Exceptions to all this are musical and dance events, which can be attended only by those protected against the coronavirus, regardless of age and location.
