The Sir Georg Solti Memorial Festival will be held in Chicago
Press release – Please join us for the Sir Georg Solti Memorial Festival, honoring the Hungarian Born and trained former Music Director of the world famous Chicago Symphony Orchestra!
The Sir Georg Solti Memorial Festival will be held at the Copernicus Center, 5216 W. Lawrence in Chicago. On April 3, 4PM the Lincolnwood Chamber Orchestra will perform, and April 4, 7PM, Chicago Pro Musica. The concert will include many musicians who were appointed to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra by Maestro Solti. Featured soloists include Albert Igolnikov, violin, John Bruce Yeh, clarinet, and Brother and Sister singing sensations Pavel and Anastasiya Roytman.
This program will be a coming together of many with Hungarian roots, including the Consulate General of Hungary Chicago, which is a sponsor of the event. The gala orchestral concert on April 3 will feature music of Bartók, Liszt, Weiner, and Kálmán. There will be a post-concert VIP reception attended by the Consul General.
