The Victory Of A Hungarian Craft Beer In The USA
The International Competition of Craft Beers was held in Kentucky State this year. About 1000 different beers from 30 different countries took place in the competition. Among five other craft beers a special Christmas dark beer, namely the Zip Xmas Ale 2013 won the gold medal. Its name came from the Hungarian Zip’s Brewhouse beer house of Miskolc city which was the creator of the beer – Szeretlek Magyarország! reported.
László Tóth, the CEO of the beer house noted that they got a double victory because in the final comparison the Zip Xmas Ale 2013 beer was the best out of the other five craft beers. He also added that the winner Christmas beer will have been launched on the market by the end of this year. The craft beer contains twelve ingredients and was classified in the imperial stout category. Moreover, the alcohol content of this special beer is above 10% so it is an extremely strong drink.
Interestingly, the beer was delivered to the USA by a dispatch-rider and the chosen experts made the blind test on the craft beer. According to the Szeretlekmagyarorszag.hu website these experts have tasted and evaluated beers for more than 20 years.
József Turóczi, the leader of the beer house said the winning beer was created for the Christmas Holidays, thus this dark and spicy beer contains English hops and the flavors of Christmas cookies. Moreover, the aroma of the beer is like the spicy mulled wine mixing fruity ale beer. József Turóczi also noted that you’d better be careful in drinking the beer due to its high alcoholic content – luckily, a glass or two of the Zip Xmas Ale beer is not enough to get drunk.
