A strange celestial phenomenon was witnessed by many across Hungary on Monday evening. As strange as it may seem, Elon Musk is the answer.

At 9 PM in Budapest and several other Hungarian cities and villages, residents witnessed an amazing celestial phenomenon, and photos started to spread on social media. Many were surprised by the bluish spiral, first suspecting a meteor or an object of unknown origin. But it later turned out that the spectacular phenomenon was caused by a stage of Elon Musk’s space agency SpaceX’s latest rocket launch.

The VG article described the details, saying that SpaceX launched another Falcon 9 rocket from the United States on 24 March, which sent Starlink satellites into orbit around the Earth. Following the launch, the rocket’s first stage separated and returned to the atmosphere in a controlled descent, during which the mixture of engine ignitions and contrails during re-entry created spectacular spiral light shapes.

Yesterday, on 24 March 2025, SpaceX successfully launched a Falcon 9 rocket from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The mission, designated as NROL-69, was a classified operation for the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), which manages the U.S. military’s spy satellites. This launch was part of a series of missions planned by the NRO for 2025, marking its fifth launch of the year. It highlights SpaceX’s continued role in supporting U.S. national security objectives through its partnership with the Space Force and other government agencies. The launch coincided with the 19th anniversary of SpaceX’s first-ever liftoff, marking a significant milestone in the company’s history, the National Desk said. SpaceX has been instrumental in advancing space technology and reducing launch costs through its reusable rocket systems. The success of this mission underscores the company’s reliability and efficiency in executing complex space operations.
