This is what Hungary’s seaport will look like!

Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó, announced more than a year and a half ago that the contract had been signed, based on which Hungary is establishing a seaport in Trieste as part of an EUR 131m project. This means that Hungary will have a seaport again after over 100 years.

According to Index, the Hungarian government also purchased an operating concession.

Over the weekend, it turned out that the case had been closed in the meantime, and Adria Port had 100% ownership of the Italian company Aquila, which owned the concession, so Hungary has a seaport again.

As we wrote HERE, Hungary purchased a 32-hectare area with a 300-meter-long coastline that can be used by Hungarian companies for their export activities, which is expected to amount to 2 million tons/year.

However, the area must first be recovered and a heritage protection procedure must be carried out, which could take up to a year.

Based on the visual design, Index found Hungary’s new area on Google Maps:

The 300-meter coastline and 32 hectares roughly mean that the coast, the Strada Provinciale 14, and the SP 15/ SS 15 roads border the Hungarian territory, to which the large “rusty cans” seen on the link do not belong.

You can explore the area in surprising detail on Google Maps. Check it out!

  1. It is an Italian Seaport leased (rented) to Hungarian company. Not the same thing as being a ‘Hungarian Port’. If someone leases an office building it does not mean that they own it and the same thing applies here.

  2. If they want a great seaport then they should buy here in the Canadian Maritimes since our properties R the least expensive in all of Canada & the gateway into the rest of the country as well as the Eastern Seaboard of the US. Where properties R outrageously priced. Also, once you own property here for 6 months, you get free healthcare coverage. That is why we have wealthy central Canadians & Americans buying ‘summer homes’ here in our very beautiful, affordable area. Germans & Dutch especially love it here!

It would be WONDERFUL to have Hungarian products coming directly here to a port location. Now mostly Torontonians & those in Montreal benefit from such products. We could use the hard-work ethic raised Magyar to build up our province, such as my own parents & friends built up Ontario in the 40s & 50s. This country barely had roads then, or bridges or other infrastructure despite early settlers living here for over 600 yrs. Imagine, the 1st road that went all the way across our country wasn’t even built until the 1960s. No tourists come here to see traces of old societies of close to 1000 yrs like they do to every other place on the planet. Nothing to see here. We are still an empty country, ripe for investment & for building a future.

Google Indian Harbour, Chester, Hubbards, Mahone Bay, Lunenburg, Port Royal & see how amazingly beautiful it is here in my own area.

  3. Nova Scotia Canada would welcome you and you could actually own here! Why rent? And we have done SO WELL in relation to Covid for almost the entire year.
