This is what the world press writes about the Hungarian football success
The world is amazed by last night’s football match, when Hungary beat Norway, thus qualifying the team to next year’s European Championships for the first time since 1972. The Hungarian success has been mentioned in various significant foreign pages.
BBC (England): “Hungary secured its place in next year’s European Championships. Tamas Priskin’s, who played in England for many years, brilliant goal helped secure a Euro 2016 play-off win over Norway.”
Uefa.com: “Hungary bound for finals after Norway win. Tamás Priskin’s splendid 14th-minute finish and a late own goal steered the Magyars to their first major final tournament since 1986.”
Eurosport.com: “Hungary end 30-year wait for place at major finals. A terrific first-half strike from Tamás Priskin would have deserved to win any game, with the shot curling in beautifully to take Hungary into the lead.”
Skysports.com: “Hungary beat Norway 2-1 in the second leg of their European Qualifier play-off to seal a 3-1 aggregate victory that books them a place at Euro 2016. The home side’s passage to next summer’s tournament was never in doubt thanks to Tamas Priskin’s early strike, before Markus Henriksen’s 83rd-minute own goal sealed matters at the Groupama Arena.”
Fox News (USA): “A corner, a glancing header, a deflection, a desperate sprawl form the goalkeeper. A moment as the crowd tried to work out what had happened and then ecstasy. Hungary finished the two-leg playoff with a 3-1 aggregate win and passage to Euro 2016 secured – a first appearance at a major tournament for 30 years. Gabor Kiraly, in his trademark baggy grey tracksuit bottoms ran the length of the field to join the celebrations. Everywhere, but for one small corner of the ground, the red white and green flag of Hungary waved.”
The Guardian (UK): “Gambles pay off as Hungary get to France and Storck proves his worth. Hungary has not got a single player who appears in Europe’s top-five leagues but they had more than enough to see off Norway in the Euro 2016 playoffs.”
Daily Mail (UK): “Tamás Priskin’s wonder strike and a Markus Henriksen own goal ensures Hungarians’ passage to France 2016. Hungary booked a return to major tournament football for the first time in 30 years with a 3-1 aggregate victory over Norway in their Euro 2016 qualifying play-off.”
L’Équipe (France): “Hungary reaches their first major final tournament since the 1986 FIFA World Cup via the play-offs. They beat Norway by 2-1, 1-0.”
France Football (France): “Hungary is reborn. The team, who has been missing from major final tournament for three decades, qualifies to Euro 2016 by beating Norway twice.”
Marca (Spain): “Gábor Király invests in Euro 2016 participation, after investing in his tracksuit bottoms. The Hungarian team qualified themselves after many years, by beating Norway.”

Hello World !!!!!! Does any one remember the WORLD championship game of the 1950’s Puszkas-Kocsis area against the W. Germany team. How about the 6;3 win at Wembley. May the soccer(football) gods favor a USA vs HUNGARY dream match final. I think I’ll have a few szilva palinka (plum whiskey) shots on that. Thank You.!!!
