Tips to enjoy your vacation in Mexico during pandemic
Last year was a total nightmare for many of us, and thinking about vacations abroad were unimaginable. Fortunately, now this can be a real option for most of us that haven’t taken a trip in a long time. With millions of people getting vaccinate around the world, travel is staring to feel safer than last year. However, you still need to take some precautions before and during your trip, so keep reading to know some tips that will help you fully relax.Â
Know the COVID-19 rates at your destination
Before traveling, take a look into the positivity rates of your destination and the entry restrictions. Mexico is one of the few countries without restrictions to entry to the country, but you can also check out the hygiene measures against covid-19 that principal airports have implemented for travelers to have the safest stay.
Avoid locations with a risk level of COVID-19 since there are more chances to get the virus, even if you are fully vaccinated. Before traveling, take into consideration if you are a vulnerable population with an increased risk of getting sick and speak with your doctor to know all the risks and options. You can also get tested before departing and again after your arrival, it is recommended to do it three days before and after, especially if you are not vaccinated yet. Â

If you are traveling by plane, remain wear your mask all the time onboard and stay in your seat to avoid contact with other passengers. To move through your destination, self-driving is one of the safest ways of transportation, so getting a car rental in Puerto Vallarta, Cancun or any tourist destination is a great option. Car rental agencies have different hygiene protocols for vehicles, offering more security and reduce the extra vigilance that you can have if you travel by bus.
Private shuttles are also available and a safe option to go to your hotel in case you travel with numerous people. With bilingual drivers in case you don’t want to drive to your destination and direct services without sharing your vehicle to strangers. You can find some shuttle company at Cancun airport or also book your service in advance to reduce the contact with other people at tour arrival.
Avoid crowds or indoor places
Eating inside a restaurant can be risky if you are not fully vaccinated, so try to look for outdoor activities and outside restaurants to feel more comfortable. Maybe there are some activities that you usually do during vacations that you have to avoid now, but it is difficult to know the vaccination status of other people, so it is recommended to avoid indoor places with large crowds.
Stay vigilant but do not forget to enjoy
Keep the safe habits during your whole trip and follow the hygiene measures all the time without forgetting to have a good time. Wash your hands often for at least 20 seconds, keep your distance with others, wear your mask all the time and just remove it to eat or drink and disinfect frequently high-touch objects.
Hotels have implemented safety protocols, so don’t be extra worry and enjoy your stay. If you prefer, you can also open your windows for better ventilation and ask for room service.
