The Real Person!
Yes, parking is getting more expensive. No one can outshine Hungarian complainers.
The toll road between Kirkland and Belview Washington used to be $1, now it is $15. That is inflation. Yet, people that are in a hurry and do not want to spend most of their life on the road are paying this fee. Yet, I have not found mass protest against the inflation of toll road fee. Many Americans’ income is comparable to many Hungarians.
Budapest, an ancient city not built for cars. Parking spaces are sparse. There really is no solution unless classical buildings are demolished and made into parking lots; the result will be lack of housing. High parking fees are usually charged to discourage people from using cars. In New York, people spend $80,000+ to buy a parking space. When travelling in US major cities, hotels charge $30 plus for parking.
The above information will not make anyone happier, high parking fees are a reality all over.
