Tragedy: Flight diverted to Budapest after child falls ill; child dies!
A four-year-old girl died after becoming ill on a commercial flight that was diverted to Liszt Ferenc International Airport on Saturday, Budapest Airport and the National Ambulance Service told MTI.
Ambulances were called to Liszt Ferenc to treat the girl, but she died in spite of prolonged efforts by paramedics, the ambulance service said.
They started resuscitation in the air, and the Hungarian ambulance fought for almost one hour for the child’s life, but the patient died about an hour after landing.
The Bombardier CRJ-900 was chartered from the Slovenian Adria Airways.
The diverted flight was from Moldova to Vienna, Budapest Airport communications director Mihály Hardy told MTI.
