Tragic accident in Hungary: one dead, dozens injured as bus overturns on its side
A bus crashed into a ditch on its side on Wednesday morning in Hungary. One person died in the accident.
A bus overturned on its side and crashed into a ditch in Fejér county, Hungary. The accident happened at km 38 of the road connecting Seregélyes and Sárosd on Wednesday, before 6 AM, the disaster management reports on its website.
One person died in the accident, MTI reports.
According to the spokesman of the National Ambulance Service, Pál Győrfi, the man suffered serious internal injuries and could not be helped. 24 people were injured, one of them in a serious condition, suffering a head injury and a broken leg. Fourteen ambulances were called to the accident and the injured were taken to Székesfehérvár and Dunaújváros hospitals.
50 passengers were in the bus. 30 of them were able to leave the vehicle, the other passengers were rescued by the Székesfehérvár firefighters, under the direction of the disaster management operational service, with the help of a crowbar.
