Let’s all hope Mr. Trump jumps on stage to tout the other BFFs in due time – Mr. Farage and Reform UK, Mrs. Le Pen / Mr. Bardella and Rassemblement National, Mrs. Meloni and Fratelli d’Italia, Mr. Salvini and Lega, Mrs. Weidel and the AfD, Mr. Kaczyński and PiS and Mr. Wilders and PVV.    • @Larry, ships loaded with Russian gas still arrive at the ports of Zeebrugge and Antwerp every week! In 2025 there was even an increase in the supply of Russian LNG gas at the Zeebrugge gas terminal!The gas supplied is part of the Yamal project!(source High North)! The gas goes via pipelines to many European countries but most of it remains in Belgium and the European Union! The two ports are in Belgium and I am Belgian! Should I feel guilty now!?Prince Hamlet would say: That is the question??

     • EU members should feel guilty about not acting faster to source gas from non-authoritarian and non-warmongering sellers.
       Luckily Russian gas purchases will cease at last by the end of 2027.

   • You seem to be advocating appeasement? History has shown this rarely succeeds.

     Facts:

     Nearly four years ago, Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine;
     Ukraine is simply defending its sovereignty;
     An overwhelming majority of Ukrainians remain determined to continue this fight; and
     If Russia truly wanted peace, it would have already abandoned its maximalist demands?

     My two cents worth. At the end of the day, the ball is in Russia’s court.

       The Ukraine is Russia, as it has been for 1,000 years – and there is absolutely nothing you. or anyone in The West, can do to change this … other than accept that.

       The notion that the Ukraine is, somehow, a western country, is a remarkable leap of fantasy, just as is the notion that just because Russia finally replied to endless provocations is somehow indicative of a desire, on their part, to occupy Berlin or Paris.

       That said, there can be little doubt that, IF the Russians ran Germany and France, most French and Germans would be much happier than they, being run from Bruxelles, are now.
