Two accidents 40 injured in Pest County
According to origo.hu, almost 40 people got injured in two accidents that happened yesterday morning in Pest County. Two trucks and one car crashed near Nagykőrös, several people were desperately wounded. One of the trucks delivered people on its platform illegally.
The two accidents happened at almost the same time is Pest County. The first one happened on the M3 highway near Bag. It was a bus accident, 22 people were injured, one person was desperately wounded, while eight people suffered serious injuries.
The injured were taken to the Honvéd Hospital in Budapest. It is believed that the bus carrying tourists fell into the ditch along the road. The bus probably belongs to one of the greatest hotels in the city. Most of the passengers waited at the location until they were transferred to the hospital. They “only” suffered a temporary shock. The authorities are still investigating the reason why the bus fell into the ditch.
Andrea Beluzsárné Belicza, the spokesperson of the Pest County Police Headquarters, said that there were two drivers and 38 passengers on the bus. Attila Csámpai, the spokesperson of the Pest County Directorate for Disaster Management, added that the bus broke the guard-net and fell 8-10 metres into the ditch along the road.
The other accident happened at road 441, near Nagykőrös. Three vehicles crashed: two trucks and one car. Andrea Beluzsárné Belicza said that, according to preliminary information, 17 people got injured in the accident: 12 lightly and 5 seriously.
Noémi Vattainé Székely, the press agent of the Hungarian Police Headquarters, said that several fouls were committed. For instance, there were seven people in the car instead of five, out of them one was a child, but they didn’t use the obligatory safety seat. Moreover, one of the trucks carried agricultural seasonal workers on its platform illegally. The police is still investigating the case.
