Don’t be scared if you see fighter jets over Hungary these days!

According to a Hungarian media outlet, hard days are to come. Fighter jets are expected to swarm the Hungarian skies in the next few days, and they will be very loud. Below, you can read more details.

According to blikk.hu, a joint US-Hungarian fighter jet exercise will be carried out in Hungary. The settlements concerned are Makó, Veszprém, Hajmáskér, Öskü, Várpalota, Tés, and Eplény, and the territories these places bound. The Hungarian Defence Ministry said in a Friday statement that, based on the exercise program, the fighter jets will carry out tasks between 9 am and 6 pm on workdays. However, their sound might be disturbing for some.

They also said that they would follow all relevant rules and try to minimise the impact on citizens. They also thank everyone for their understanding and patience in advance.

Interestingly, previous international military exercises in Hungary finished only last week. As we reported HERE, the Black Swan 2022 special operations military exercise of NATO concluded in Szolnok, Hungary, last Thursday. It

involved over 700 troops from nine countries,

along with 15 aircraft and other equipment. All partner countries of the Regional Special Operations Component Command (R-SOCC) were involved in the exercise led by Hungary, including Austria, Croatia, Slovakia, and Slovenia. Furthermore, the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, and the US also participated. They aim to achieve full operational capacity by the end of 2024 and to be able to go on stand-by from 2025.

Hungary, Slovakia, and Slovenia held the 12-day-long exercise with some 715 soldiers carrying out more than 40 special operational tasks. The exercise mainly covered military areas, but operations were also carried out in 13 civilian areas.

On May 16, a historic military exercise started in Estonia. Ten countries are taking part, including the USA, the United Kingdom, Finland, and Sweden. 15 thousand soldiers will carry out tasks this week and the next, which is a historic number in the Baltic states, BBC writes.

Tensions between Moscow and NATO are growing. Finland and Sweden want to join NATO, while Russian troops invaded Ukraine on February 24 to prevent Kyiv’s NATO and EU accession. The Baltic military drill aims to prove that the Baltic states could withstand a Russian attack.
